jo and Tallis for a solo founder’s work
What matters
Tallis Planned offer
jo Public information
Built around
One person: a solo founder or operator, with private ongoing context. [T]
A personal agent with its own isolated cloud machine per user. [1][2][3]
How you work
A continuing conversation through Telegram and a web chat, without running your own agent. [T]
Web, macOS app, iMessage, Telegram, WhatsApp and email. [1][2][3]
Work to hand over
Recurring research, drafted communication and controlled upkeep of existing accounts and sites. [T]
Delegated tasks with drafts that send on approval; six model providers behind zero-retention endpoints. [1][2][3]
Control over actions
Exact previews in Preview mode; policy-based Guardrails and Autopilot, with pause and records of outcomes. [T]
Approval before send, per its homepage; the approval flow was not tested here. [1][2][3]
Access and cost
Waitlist. Confirm launch pricing and workflow availability before subscribing. [T]
Free during beta; no published price (the pricing page returned 404 on 2026-09-10). US hosting with 30-day raw-context retention per its privacy page. [1][2][3]
Which fits you?
Start with your next useful task.
Consider jo if you want a free beta of a personal agent with its own cloud machine and you are comfortable with US hosting. Consider Tallis if you want the same private-cell idea with EU hosting, receipts for every action and a published job price once access opens. Both are pre-price today; compare retention and deletion terms, not slogans.
This is our assessment of fit. We have not run a head-to-head performance or reliability test.
Try this before deciding
A useful test beats a feature count.
Suggested evaluation steps, not a test we have performed.
Ask each where your data physically lives and how long raw context is kept.
Delegate one task that ends in a sent message and inspect the approval and the record of what went out.
Ask both to delete everything and check what remains reachable.
Before you choose
Questions worth asking.
Is an isolated machine the same as a private one?
Not by itself. Isolation says your work runs apart from other users; privacy also depends on hosting region, retention of raw context, which model providers see it and whether you can delete it. jo publishes US hosting, 30-day raw-context retention and zero-retention model endpoints. Compare those terms with the Tallis cell design rather than the word isolated. [1][2][3]
How current is this comparison?
We checked the cited material on 2026-09-10. Prices, availability and features may change. Confirm the terms and the exact workflow with the provider before committing.
Sources and review
Published by Tallis, one of the products compared. This is an editorial comparison of public information, not an independent product audit. We separate published claims, our planned offer and our assessment of fit.
Tallis is being built for a solo founder or operator: private ongoing context, included model access, recurring research, and controlled actions in connected accounts. Telegram and a web chat are the launch channels. Preview requires an exact preview and approval. Guardrails and Autopilot use the permissions you set; every mode retains pause and records of outcomes.
Access is currently by waitlist. These launch intentions are not a claim that every workflow is available today. Shared teams, an app-builder marketplace and unrestricted purchases are outside the initial offer. See Tallis.
